About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive BI Developer with expertise in Power BI to join our team and support a critical data migration project. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and delivering ad hoc reports, collaborating closely with business stakeholders — particularly within the Sales Analytics Group — to transform data into actionable insights.

This role requires a strong blend of technical reporting skills and excellent communication abilities, with a proactive mindset and the capability to operate independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain dynamic Power BI dashboards and reports to support business decision-making.
  • Create and optimize data models to ensure efficient data retrieval and analysis.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, security, and governance across all reports and dashboards.
  • Provide training and support to end users on Power BI tools and functionalities.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in Power BI and data analytics.
  • Perform ad hoc reporting based on stakeholder needs across the Sales Analytics Group.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather and understand business requirements.
  • Support reporting efforts within a broader data migration initiative, ensuring continuity and clarity of insights during system transitions.
  • Translate complex data into easily understandable visual formats and narratives for business audiences.
  • Present insights and reporting outcomes clearly and confidently to stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.
  • Identify data quality issues and collaborate with the data team to resolve them.
  • Take ownership of tasks and proactively identify areas for improvement in reporting and data visualization.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience as a BI Developer or similar role, with a strong focus on Power BI.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.
  • Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
  • Strong technical acumen with experience in SQL and database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
  • Proven ability to produce ad hoc and recurring reports under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of presenting to business leaders and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive results with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with data migration or modernization projects is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Power BI or related technologies.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and their data services.
  • Experience in the Sales or Sales Analytics domain.
  • Background in supporting enterprise-level reporting systems and tools.
  • Understanding of other BI tools or platforms (e.g., Qlik Sense, Tableau, Excel, SSRS).

This hands-on Data Analyst position resides within the firm's Business Solutions & Innovations department, where 15+ years of cutting-edge technology and business processes have undergone a complex and strategic overhaul focused on AI integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain reporting processes to support firm stakeholders.
  • Develop an understanding and knowledge of databases supporting firm operations.
  • Utilize Power BI Analysis Services for data visualization and reporting.
  • Leverage Aderant Database & Software for financial systems reporting.
  • Perform initial analysis and refinement of data.
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external resources.
  • Respond to ad hoc data requests.
  • Effectively analyze, reverse-engineer, and document legacy scripting routines.

Required Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in Financial Systems Administration.
  • 1–3 years of recent experience with the Aderant Financial System.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage data and perform data analysis.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI Analysis Services.
  • MS SQL / SSRS / SQL Query skills required.
  • Exceptional MS Excel understanding; ability to debug and develop required.
  • VBA/Macro understanding and ability to debug are preferred skills.
  • Familiarity with JIRA software or comparable project management tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong multitasking ability to manage numerous projects and tasks concurrently.
  • Strong oral communication skills.
  • Ability to draft succinct, informative, and accurate reports and recommendations.
  • Organizational skills to manage toward deadlines and deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading the transition, integration, and implementation of legal e-billing platforms.
  • Knowledge of Sequel Viewpoint Systems.
  • Prior industry experience with mid-to-large sized law firms.
  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in Computer Science or a related field), or substantial industry experience/expertise.
